What do young people have gap years for? They haven’t done anything yet. Why don’t they have a full year, where they do nine times as much as they’ve ever experienced up to that point? So they know what the rest of adulthood feels like – which is walking around in a desert, with a bag over your head, being bumped into by people who rob you as they bore you.
